Abdul Karim Bin Abdul Jalil Obituary – The individual who was fatally shot at a park in Phoenix on Thursday has been identified, according to the Phoenix police. Late Friday night, it was revealed that the victim was Abdul Karim Bin Abdul Jalil, a 24-year-old father and refugee from Malaysia. Jalil’s family, who spoke with Arizona’s Family shortly after the incident, expressed their grief and shared details about his background.
The shooting occurred at Mariposa Park, located at 33rd and Morten Avenues, just south of Northern Avenue, shortly before 4:30 p.m. Jalil was engaged in a game of soccer with others when the ball accidentally struck a nearby car, leading to an argument between Jalil and another individual. The suspect, in response, retrieved a firearm from the car and began firing at the soccer players. Tragically, both Jalil and another man were struck by the gunfire. Jalil succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the other victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Jalil’s family stated that they were unfamiliar with the shooter, and as of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO to provide an anonymous tip.
