Alan Jenks Death – The individual who was shot and killed during a house fire in West Central Spokane on Sunday night has now been identified. The Spokane County Medical Examiner has determined that the cause of death for 38-year-old Alan Jenks was multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and extremities. The medical examiner has classified Jenks’ death as a homicide.
Upon receiving reports of a house fire in the vicinity of West Dean Avenue and North Oak Street on Sunday night, the Spokane Police Department promptly responded. The officers suspected arson and were unable to locate a person of interest.
According to the police, the individuals involved, later identified as Jenks, started to walk away from the scene. When the police attempted to apprehend him, Jenks discharged a firearm, prompting at least two officers to return fire, resulting in his death.
As per the Spokane Police Department, the two officers who discharged their weapons will be placed on administrative leave.
