Alexander Staal Death – 51-year-old Alexander Staal has been identified as the man who was shot and killed by Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies in Oakland Park. Staal was wanted for multiple felony charges, including attempted kidnapping, burglary, aggravated stalking, and domestic battery, stemming from a domestic violence incident that occurred on Sunday in Oakland Park.
The deputies located Staal inside his car parked on East Prospect Road and attempted to get him to surrender, but he refused to follow their orders. A confrontation ensued, and the deputies were forced to fire their weapons, resulting in Staal’s death.
The deputies involved were unharmed and are currently on administrative assignment while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates the incident. Aerial footage showed a dark-colored SUV with bullet holes through the windshield. Staal had a history of domestic violence and stalking-related cases in Broward County.
