Amere Deese, Ladeverett West Ringgold Obituary, Death – Three individuals, including a 14-year-old boy, lost their lives during a mass shooting that occurred within a residence in the Chatham neighborhood on Sunday evening. The Chicago Police Department reported that a total of four people were fatally shot, while an additional 17 individuals sustained injuries from separate shootings that took place between Friday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 11:59 p.m.
According to the authorities, the incident at the home on South Vincennes Avenue involved two men who entered the premises and opened fire while four individuals were present. Tragically, the 14-year-old boy was struck in the back and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Additionally, a 36-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were fatally shot inside the residence. A 16-year-old boy was also injured and hospitalized in fair condition with a gunshot wound to his leg.
As of Monday morning, no suspects have been apprehended, and the investigation into the shooting is being conducted by detectives from Area Two. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 14-year-old victim as Amere Deese and the 20-year-old victim as Ladeverett West Ringgold.
In a separate incident on Sunday, four individuals were shot, one fatally, in a mass shooting that occurred in a park on North Rogers Avenue. The group was standing in the area when two individuals approached and opened fire. A 19-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and later passed away at a local hospital. The three other victims, a 20-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, and a 22-year-old woman, were hospitalized and reported to be in good condition.
