Andre Taylor, Ingermar Liquori Kuwait Cleggett Death – The victims of the separate weekend homicides in Jefferson County have been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as Andre Taylor, 49, and Ingermar Liquori Kuwait Cleggett, 47. Taylor was killed in Bessemer, while Cleggett was killed in Birmingham. Authorities were alerted to a shooting at 18th Street and 18th Way in Bessemer at 5:35 a.m. on Saturday, where they found Taylor unresponsive inside a vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:47 a.m. A suspect has been taken into custody, but formal charges have not yet been announced. Cleggett was discovered slain in his East Thomas home in Birmingham on Easter Sunday. The victim was found unresponsive by a family member at around 6:30 p.m. in the 10 block of 15th Avenue West. Police found several shell casings in front of Cleggett’s house and noted significant bullet damage to the residence.
Investigations are ongoing to determine if the incidents are related. Taylor’s death marks Bessemer’s third homicide of 2024, while Cleggett’s death is Birmingham’s 34th this year. In total, there have been 43 homicides in Jefferson County.
