Arsenio Mas Obituary – The Florida Highway Patrol has released the identity of the semi-truck driver who tragically lost his life in a devastating crash on Interstate 95. The driver has been identified as Arsenio Mas, a 55-year-old resident of Homestead. The crash also claimed the life of Trooper Zachary Fink, a 26-year-old officer who was involved in a police chase in St. Lucie County.
According to News Channel 8, Trooper Fink was struck and killed after colliding with the semi-truck near Crosstown Parkway. Authorities have charged 30-year-old Michael Anthony Addison, from Lauderdale by The Sea, with causing the crash. Addison is facing charges of two counts of vehicular homicide, two counts of felony homicide, and driving without a license causing death or serious injury.
Additionally, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office has charged Addison with fleeing to elude police with lights and sirens activated, as well as an out-of-county warrant from Broward County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated battery. Addison is currently being held without bond at the St. Lucie County Jail. Jail records indicate that he remains incarcerated as of Thursday.
