Branden Sisca Obituary – The widow of a Pennsylvania state trooper who lost his life in a tragic DUI crash on I-95 has initiated legal proceedings. A recently filed lawsuit argues that the death of 29-year-old Branden Sisca could have been completely prevented. According to the claim, Trooper Sisca should have been able to return home to his pregnant wife after completing his shift in 2022.
The fatal crash occurred while Sisca and Trooper Martin Mack were assisting a pedestrian, identified as 28-year-old Reyes Rivera Oliveras, in entering the back of their cruiser on Interstate 95 South near the Stadium Complex in South Philadelphia. Regrettably, all three individuals lost their lives in the accident.
Attorney Adam Pantano from Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky expressed, “This tragedy, which resulted in the deaths of two troopers, has taken a father and husband away from his family. The family deserves to know the answers to their questions.”
On Tuesday, Pantano announced the filing of a wrongful death lawsuit against the 23-year-old driver, Janaya Webb, who was convicted of causing the deaths of all three men. The lawsuit also implicates Vibe Hookah Lounge in Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood for unlawfully serving alcohol and marijuana to Webb, despite her being intoxicated.
The complaint alleges that Webb was visibly intoxicated while at the establishment, and after being excessively served alcohol and marijuana, she recklessly accelerated to speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour on I-95.
Attorney Jordan Howell, also from Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky, stated, “Not only did they lack the necessary permit or license to serve alcohol, but they also continued to serve her even when she was clearly intoxicated.” The Germantown club was forced to close down within a few days following the tragic crash.
Webb is currently serving a 27 to 60-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to three counts of third-degree murder, three counts of homicide by vehicle while driving impaired, and one count of DUI.
