Brandon Gunstanson Obituary – The man who was killed in a road rage incident in Middletown earlier this week has been identified by the Butler County Coroner’s Office. On Tuesday around 11:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Manchester Avenue and Verity Parkway after receiving a report about two cars involved in a road rage incident.
A witness who called 911 reported, “They almost hit me. It was a car and a truck. The truck was behind him. It was a white Chevy extended cab truck, and he rammed him, and then I heard gunshots as soon as I turned. The truck hit the car and then gunshots went off.”
The driver of the pickup truck eventually crashed into a pole in front of the Eagles Lodge.
Acting Middletown Police Chief Eric Crank stated, “The subject died from a gunshot wound to his neck. We are still confirming, but it appears that bullets were fired into the car from both the rear and front.”
The victim, identified as 26-year-old Brandon Gunstanson, died at the scene. The coroner’s office determined that the cause of death was gunshot wounds and classified it as a homicide.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Section later located the other vehicle involved and identified the driver.
At this time, the police have not released any names or confirmed if any arrests have been made.
The investigation is currently ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the police at 513-425-7785.
