Brent Boulter Death – One individual has passed away, and another remains unaccounted for following a rafting incident on the Colorado River that took place on Saturday afternoon. The Grand County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident happened at approximately 3:40 p.m. in the southwest area of Kremmling. The sheriff’s office confirmed on Saturday night that a 56-year-old man lost his life, while a 61-year-old man is still missing. A third individual managed to swim to safety.
The sheriff’s office initially stated that the raft overturned in the Gore Canyon but later corrected the location to be closer to Yarmony Rapids. The three men involved were part of a private group. Search operations continued on Sunday, with the deceased identified as Brent Boulter from Aurora and the missing individual as Thomas Russell from Littleton.
Multiple agencies from Grand County, Eagle County, Vail, various fire protection districts, and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management were involved in the search, which included the use of aerial drones. An initial inquiry revealed that neither the deceased nor the missing man were wearing life jackets. The sheriff’s office has not yet responded to inquiries for further details.
If anyone spots any signs of the missing individual, they are urged to contact 911.
