Brett A. Trammell Death – A man who lost his life in a fiery three-vehicle collision in Augusta County last week has been identified by the Virginia State Police. The incident occurred on March 20 in the afternoon when a Jeep Wrangler traveling southbound on Little Calf Pasture Highway (U.S. 42) veered across the center line and collided with an oncoming dump truck. Subsequently, the Jeep crashed into a ditch and caught fire. Another dump truck, unable to avoid the accident, also collided with the first dump truck.
The crash site was near the Shenandale Gun Club, as reported by the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office. The deceased driver of the Jeep has been identified as Brett A. Trammell, a 39-year-old resident of Hot Springs, Virginia. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the dump truck that was struck by the Jeep was transported to UVA Health in Charlottesville with severe injuries, according to the police.
The road remained closed for approximately four hours due to the incident. Additionally, the fire that erupted during the crash was further fueled by high winds, resulting in the scorching of hundreds of acres, as confirmed by Augusta County Fire-Rescue.
