Bryan Howard Lloyd Obituary – Police are on the hunt for the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in North Philadelphia before fleeing the scene. It happened around 6 a.m. Saturday in front of the Met at Broad and Poplar streets. The victim, later identified as 55-year-old Bryan Howard Lloyd, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to Philadelphia police, Lloyd was attempting to cross from the west side of Broad Street when a black SUV hit him as it traveled south. The force of the crash sent Lloyd airborne, causing him to land on another vehicle.
Investigators are now searching for a black Porsche with front-end damage. Action News had the chance to speak with the victim’s family, who are devastated by the loss of their loved one. They say they’re pleading for the driver to come forward. “He did not deserve to go like this. He did not deserve that,” said Sylvia Dorn, Lloyd’s stepmother. “You could’ve at least checked to see if he was breathing or checked to make sure he was alive,” she added.
Lloyd’s stepmother and father say the victim was a father, working to get his life back on track. He was temporarily living in a shelter until he could find a new place to call home. “It was unbelievable. I didn’t want that to happen to him,” said Lewis Lloyd, the victim’s father. While they say Lloyd wasn’t perfect, he didn’t deserve to die in this way. “Turn yourself in. You know you’re wrong,” said Dorn, pleading with the driver to turn themselves in. No arrests have been made in this case so far.
