Chazan Page Death – Authorities have reported that a tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a football player at Tennessee State University. The victim, 20-year-old Chazan Page, was struck by a driver while crossing Gallatin Pike. The university’s athletics department has confirmed his passing.
In a statement, TSU Director of Athletics Dr. Mikki Allen expressed deep sorrow over the loss, highlighting Page’s exceptional leadership qualities, positive attitude, and genuine care for others. The entire athletics family mourns the loss of Chazan, as he was a remarkable young man and leader who had a positive impact on those around him. Dr. Allen extended thoughts and prayers to the football student-athletes, coaches, families, and friends affected by this tragedy.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. near Marion Avenue in Nashville. Page was struck by a red sedan or a small SUV traveling north on Gallatin Pike at a high speed. The vehicle involved is expected to have significant front-end damage.
Page was immediately taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries. Reports indicate that he had played in 28 career games for TSU, starting in all 11 games during his last two seasons. He was anticipated to be a key player on the offensive line in his senior season, showcasing his talent and dedication. Additionally, Page had also played football during his time at Lipscomb Academy.
