Christine Gerlinde Rottmann Obituary – The death of a woman who was struck by a train on Wednesday night is currently under investigation by the Killeen Police Department. The woman has been identified as 58-year-old Christine Gerlinde Rottmann. At 7:24 p.m. on May 1, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of 8th Street following reports of a train accident at the railroad crossing.
Upon arrival, Rottmann was discovered deceased on the tracks. According to the investigation, the train was traveling at 25 MPH near 8th Street when the conductor spotted Rottmann on the tracks.
Despite the conductor sounding the train’s horn and applying the emergency brakes, Rottmann did not move and was struck by the train. Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson declared Rottmann dead at the scene and ordered an autopsy to be conducted.
