Christopher King, Ben Foreman Death – On Saturday, March 23, two separate shootings occurred in Cordele, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the injury of another. Before the fatal shooting, a woman was shot in the 600 block of 12th Avenue, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. The second incident took place at the Quickmart Convenience Store on W. 16th Avenue, where two men, identified as Christopher King, 27, and Ben Foreman, 53, were shot and killed in the store’s parking lot around 11 p.m. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed that both King and Foreman had already passed away.
The Cordele Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies, promptly responded to the scene. In order to aid in the investigation, the Cordele Police Department requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). Police Chief Jalon Heard announced that there would be increased patrols and a heightened police officer presence throughout the Easter Weekend in Cordele.
