Christopher McCartney Death – A 66-year-old motorcyclist from Tustin, identified as Christopher McCartney, tragically lost his life in a collision on Ortega Highway over the weekend. According to Officer Mike Lassig of the California Highway Patrol, McCartney was traveling eastbound on the 74, approximately two miles west of Grand Avenue, when the incident occurred on Saturday morning. Riding his 2014 Triumph motorcycle at an unknown speed, McCartney approached a right-hand curve on the road and, for reasons yet to be determined, was unable to navigate it safely.
As a result, he veered off the road and collided with the mountainside, leading to his ejection from the motorcycle and sustaining severe injuries. Sadly, no other vehicles were involved in the accident. The Riverside County Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene within 20 minutes but, unfortunately, McCartney was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
The authorities have not determined whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash, and an autopsy will be conducted by the coroner’s bureau. If anyone has any information regarding the incident, they are urged to contact the CHP’s Temecula office at 951-466-4300.
