Colton Valdez Obituary – North Carolina authorities have announced that no charges will be pressed about a tragic shooting incident that occurred earlier this week in a Walmart parking lot. The incident, which resulted in the death of Colton Valdez, took place at the Walmart on Fayetteville Road on Tuesday.
Valdez’s family has stated that he became involved in an altercation with the individual who ultimately shot him. They claim that the man was using offensive language and shouting at Valdez’s mother while she was attempting to reverse out of a parking space. It was at this point that Valdez confronted the man.
During the confrontation, Valdez brandished a BB gun. In response, the other individual drew a handgun and fired shots. Remarkably, the shooter remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the police during their investigation.
Kathy Valdez, the victim’s mother, has expressed that Colton Valdez was shot while defending her. The Wake County District Attorney’s Office has determined that the shooting was justified.
Authorities have explained that the man who fatally shot Colton Valdez believed that the BB gun posed a genuine threat to his life. Consequently, he was within his rights to defend himself under the law and will not be charged with any criminal offenses.
