Connor Wilco Death – A memorial has emerged on Lockwood Avenue in honor of a 17-year-old student from Stamford High School who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Friday. On Monday, pictures of Connor Wilcox, a junior at the high school, were displayed on a utility pole at the intersection of Lockwood Avenue and William Street, the location of the crash.
Adjacent to the photos was a white sheet of paper affixed to the pole, filled with heartfelt messages for Wilcox, along with a makeshift pen holder. Surrounding the pole were candles, flowers, balloons, and stuffed animals. One sheet of paper prominently displayed Wilcox’s name in large letters beneath the words “rest in peace.” According to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Wilcox succumbed to severe injuries to his head, torso, and limbs caused by blunt impact.
Stamford police issued a news release stating that a teenager had lost their life in a motorcycle collision that took place at approximately 9:13 p.m. on Friday. Police spokesperson Sgt. Jeffrey Booth explained that the 17-year-old, who was operating a 2020 Kawasaki motorcycle, collided with the front of a 2011 Toyota Corolla as the car attempted to make a left turn and “entered into the motorcycle’s path of travel.”
While the teenager was transported to Stamford Hospital, the 58-year-old driver of the Toyota Corolla, a resident of Stamford, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities, as confirmed by Booth. Wilcox was a student at Stamford High School, and his mother is employed as a teacher within the district.
An online obituary for Wilcox portrays him as a devoted brother to his two siblings. “He will forever be remembered for his captivating blue eyes, warm smile, and affectionate demeanor,” the obituary states.
Wilcox is survived by his parents, William and Tara Wilcox, as well as his two brothers, Liam and Eamon Wilcox.
