David Michael Emge Obituary, Death: – David Michael Emge, aged 77, passed away on January 20, 2024, at the West River Health Campus in Evansville, Indiana. Born on September 9, 1946, in Evansville, David was the son of the late Richard Andrew and Gertrude Mary (Wipf) Emge. He had a remarkable life filled with achievements and contributions to the entertainment industry. David’s passion for acting began during his time at the University of Evansville, where he studied drama and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. However, his journey took an unexpected turn when he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Despite this interruption, David’s dedication to his craft remained unwavering.
In 1971, David made his debut on stage at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, marking the beginning of his acting career. He later ventured into the world of film, making his first appearance in the comedy film, The Booby Hatch. David’s talent and versatility led him to be cast in various roles, including the iconic helicopter pilot, Stephen, in George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. He also showcased his skills in Basket Case 2 and Hellmaster.
David’s passing leaves behind a void in the hearts of his loved ones.
