David Roy Obituary – A motorcyclist from New Hampshire died in a crash in Bethel on Saturday evening after a car pulled out in front of him, as reported by the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office. According to a news release from the sheriff’s department, deputies, along with Bethel Rescue and Fire Departments and the Greenwood Fire Department, responded to a fatal crash on Walkers Mill Road around 5 p.m. The crash involved a 2014 Honda CTX 700 motorcycle and a 2014 Toyota Prius.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the motorcycle, traveling north on Walkers Mill Road, collided with the Prius when it pulled out from a driveway into the motorcycle’s path. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased motorcyclist was identified as 61-year-old David Roy from Berlin, New Hampshire. He was riding alone at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Toyota Prius was identified as 43-year-old Arin Palmer from Hoover, Alabama. Palmer was not injured and was also traveling alone. Palmer was arrested and charged with OUI (Operating Under the Influence) resulting in death and manslaughter. He was taken to the Oxford County Jail.
The sheriff’s office announced that the road will stay closed while the investigation continues.
