George Stepp Obituary – An inquiry is currently ongoing following the tragic death of an 81-year-old man who was struck and killed by a vehicle as he exited a fast-food establishment on Saturday morning. Authorities were called to the McDonald’s located on the 700 block of Main Street at approximately 9:25 a.m. on June 29, in response to reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials discovered that the driver of a red Toyota truck had been reversing out of a parking space when they suddenly accelerated, ultimately colliding with the elderly man who was leaving the building. The victim, identified as George Stepp, was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the police. The driver of the truck was transported to Medical City Lewisville Hospital for medical assessment.
Lewisville Police have stated that they are looking into whether the driver may have experienced a medical emergency at the time of the incident, leading to the rapid reversal of the vehicle.
At this time, it remains unclear if the Toyota driver will face any criminal charges. The restaurant was temporarily closed as the authorities from Lewisville conducted their investigation.
