Gina Pellettiere, Beatrice Ferrari Obituary – The two victims of a tragic charter bus accident in New York on their way to a band camp have been named as group director Gina Pellettiere, 43, and retired history teacher Beatrice Ferrari, 77, according to authorities. The bus, transporting students from Farmingdale High School on Long Island, veered off Interstate 84 and tumbled down a 50-foot ravine in Wawayanda, a town located about 45 miles northwest of New York.
Ferrari, who served as a chaperone, was a highly respected member of the community, as stated by his son-in-law Daniel Aldieri in an interview with NBC News. With over three decades of teaching experience in the Farmingdale school district, she was known for her dedication and commitment.
“She was not only a mother and a grandmother but also my mother-in-law,” Mr. Aldieri expressed. “She cherished band camp, a tradition she upheld for 30 years. It is heartbreaking to see her depart in this manner. Our entire family is in mourning.”
Pelletière, on the other hand, was remembered by her friends as a loving mother to her young son and a skilled musician who always supported her students.
“She brought joy and excitement to the school environment. She was a source of inspiration and guidance to anyone interested in music,” shared former Farmingdale High School band member Christian Kalinowski with NBC. “Gina was a friend to all, making school and life enjoyable for everyone she encountered.”
