Hector Jovany Fernandez, Jessica Bedolla, Death – A couple killed in a rollover crash in Fallbrook earlier this month were newly married Los Angeles County residents who were “building their life together,” according to a family member and the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
Hector Jovany Fernandez, 32, and Jessica Bedolla, 28, died in the crash around 1:55 a.m. Sept. 10, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office. A GoFundMe page says they were newlyweds and new homeowners.
The details of the crash were not entirely clear. According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, Fernandez drove up an embankment along East Mission Road and struck an Interstate 15 overpass. The California Highway Patrol said at the time of the crash that the driver veered his Lexus SUV off the eastbound side of I-15 near Mission Road.
The crash left their Lexus SUV overturned, the CHP and Medical Examiner’s Office said. Fernandez and Bedolla died before they could be taken to a hospital.
Investigators have not yet determined whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, CHP Officer Hunter Gerber said. The investigation was ongoing.
Fernandez and Bedolla lived in Reseda, a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region, the Medical Examiner’s Office said. Fernandez’s sister set up a GoFundMe page to pay for her brother and sister-in-law’s funeral costs.
“They were loving siblings, uncle and aunt, they were a loving son and a loving daughter to their parents, both were extremely family oriented,” she said on the fundraising page, adding: “They both were so deep in love, newlyweds, and new homeowners, building their life together.”
