Jacob Derbin Obituary – An officer from Ohio was fatally shot in what authorities are describing as an “ambush” while responding to a disturbance call over the weekend. The incident occurred in Euclid, a suburb of Cleveland, when officers were dispatched to a home following reports of a disturbance. During the investigation, the officer was unexpectedly attacked by a gunman and sustained gunshot wounds.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, the officer tragically succumbed to his injuries. The suspected shooter, identified as Deshawn Anthony Vaughn, was later found dead at a different location after a standoff with law enforcement. The suspect was heavily armed, but the exact circumstances of his death remain unclear. The slain officer, 23-year-old Jacob Derbin, had been serving in the department for less than a year.
