James A. Hilton Death, New Jersey – James A. Hilton, a 40-year-old man from New Jersey, was fatally shot during a confrontation with another truck driver at a truck stop in Pennsylvania. The incident occurred at Love’s Travel Stop in Upper Bern Township around 2:45 a.m. Hilton was assisting a fellow trucker with parking when an argument broke out between him and a third truck driver, identified as Travis J. Pugh. Pugh shot Hilton and then fled the scene in his truck.
Authorities were able to apprehend Pugh 45 minutes later near the westbound exit ramp to Exit 40 of Interstate 78. Pugh, a resident of Jacksonville, Florida, is facing charges including murder, aggravated assault, witness tampering, reckless endangerment, harassment, and simple assault. Hilton, who hailed from Southampton, was pronounced dead at the scene by Pennsylvania State Police at 5:12 a.m. Pugh is currently in custody at Berks County jail, with no information available regarding legal representation at this time.
