James Baker, Juan Jaramillo Death – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the two individuals who were killed in the early Saturday morning collision. Law enforcement arrived at the scene just after 1:30 a.m. following a pursuit of a motorcycle by deputies from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office on Maroa Avenue near Ashlan Avenue.
The motorcyclist, traveling at a high speed, collided with a dark-colored sedan in motion at the intersection, resulting in the deaths of both the rider, James Baker, 25, of Fresno, and the driver, Juan Jaramillo, 60, of Fresno. The Collision Reconstruction Unit from the respective departments conducted an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
Prior to the incident, deputies had observed the motorcycle being driven recklessly in the city and initiated a pursuit, calling for air support and additional assistance before the fatal crash occurred.
