James Fellows Obituary – The driver who lost his life in a collision on Highway 212 south of Red Lodge on Wednesday has been identified by officials. James Fellows, a 67-year-old resident of Billings, was the individual who tragically passed away. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, Fellows was traveling alone in his Dodge pickup truck on U.S. Highway 212 when the vehicle rolled over just outside Roberts, south of Red Lodge. This incident marks the sole fatality in Montana this week, as the recent snowfall has caused slippery conditions on roads throughout the state.
On Wednesday morning, Fellows was heading south on Highway 212 when his truck began to fishtail near mile marker 80, close to Roberts. Subsequently, the truck veered off the road and overturned after leaving the highway.
Upon arrival, first responders declared Fellows deceased at the scene, as confirmed by the Montana Highway Patrol. It was reported that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The highway was described as icy during the morning hours of Wednesday. Authorities do not suspect speeding or intoxication to have played a role in the crash.
