James Rose Death – The man who passed away on Tuesday night after being hit by a minivan on 13th Street near Interstate 80 has been identified by the Omaha Police. James Rose, a 63-year-old resident of Omaha, was struck by a Honda Odyssey minivan near the intersection of 13th Street and Bob Gibson Boulevard, close to Interstate 80, at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday.
Sadly, Rose was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the OPD, Rose was walking northbound on 13th Street near the eastbound I-80 on-ramp when he was hit from behind by the minivan. The impact was so strong that it threw him into the island near the on-ramp, as stated in the news release from the OPD on Wednesday.
The OPD Traffic Unit closed the 13th Street exit off I-80 eastbound while investigating the crash. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
