Jamie Foxx is on his way home and wants to let everyone know. The Oscar-winner officially opened up about his own mysterious medical emergency in April. In a new Instagram video posted Friday night, he revealed details about his health that have been kept secret, aside from initial reports that he has been hospitalized for several weeks due to “complications.” Fox wouldn’t disclose the nature of his condition, but he took the time to talk about his recovery and debunk rumors that had been circulating in recent months.
“First of all, I want to thank everyone who prayed and sent me messages,” Fox said at the beginning of the video. “I can’t put into words how far it has taken me and how it has brought me back. I experienced things I thought I would never experience. The actor is well aware of how curious people are about his health, but he added that he is determined to stay out of the public eye while he recovers.
“I didn’t want them to see me like that,” Fox explained. “I want you to see me laughing, having fun, partying, joking, making movies and TV shows. Fox gave a special thank you to his sister, Daedra Dixon, and his daughter Colin, who they said “saved my life.” He added that they “kept it airtight” and shielded him from the media as much as possible. But he also noted a theory that emerged in the wake of their silence. “Silence can sometimes get things out of hand,” Fox said. “Some say I’m blind, but as you can see my eyes are working fine. They said I was paralyzed – I’m not paralyzed.
Fox got emotional and continued, “I know people talk about crying in the video, but you can take a second one, but I’m not going to do a second one.” it is what it is. From now on, if you see me outside and start crying sometimes, it’s because it’s been hard. I was a sick person. But now my feet are down and you’re gonna take me out
After promoting its latest sci-fi tribute to blaxploitation, The Clone Tyrone, which premiered on Netflix on Friday, Fox concluded its message with encouraging words. “I just want to say I love you all, and love all the love I’ve received…I’m on my way home.”

Fox broke his silence in early May with a post on Instagram that read, “Thank you for all the love!!!” His daughter Corinne also took to social media to deflect rumors that “her family is preparing for the worst,” reassured fans that Fox was recovering well. Fox was recently spotted celebrating summer with a golf swing, sunbathing on a boat and saving a woman’s purse in Chicago. Earlier this week, the actor teased, “Something great is coming soon,” while posing next to a gold racing car. He is reportedly working on a campaign in Las Vegas to appear in a commercial for sports betting company BetMGM during the upcoming soccer season.
