Jamie Lea Jendro, Lindsay Erin Karsky Death – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two women who tragically lost their lives in a devastating collision between their side-by-side UTV and a pickup truck. The incident occurred in Maywood Township on Saturday afternoon, prompting a swift response from authorities.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered a gray 2011 Chevy Silverado in the ditch adjacent to the UTV, which was already engulfed in flames. Brave witnesses managed to extract the two women from the fiery wreckage, but sadly, both were pronounced deceased at the scene. The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the driver as 44-year-old Jamie Lea Jendro of Princeton, while the passenger has been identified as 34-year-old Lindsay Erin Karsky of Oak Park.
The pickup truck driver, a 57-year-old man from Foley, sustained minor injuries during the crash and his valiant attempts to rescue the victims from the flames.
Preliminary investigations conducted by deputies indicate that the side-by-side was traveling south on Ronneby Road, while the pickup truck was heading north. Witnesses have reported that the UTV was driving in the middle of the road at high speeds. Evidence collected at the scene suggests that the collision occurred near the centerline of the roadway.
The circumstances leading up to this tragic accident are currently under investigation, as authorities work diligently to determine the factors that contributed to this devastating incident.
