John Esch Obituary – The Lansing Township Fire Department has reported that one of the individuals who lost their life in the tragic Clinton County accident on Saturday was a member of their team. John Esch, a 30-year-old firefighter and paramedic from Lansing Township, was fatally injured in Watertown Township on May 18, along with his family member Daniel Harris, when they were hit by a car while walking to a relative’s house. Several of his family members sustained injuries, including his wife.
In a statement released by the fire department, they expressed their deep appreciation to neighboring fire departments for their unwavering support during this challenging period. These departments have stepped in to provide coverage for their personnel who responded to the incident and those who worked closely with John. The fire department also acknowledged the care and support received from the fire service and the local community for John and his family. John was recognized as a compassionate and knowledgeable paramedic, as well as a highly respected firefighter. He joined the department in July 2020 and served the community, EMS, and fire service with dedication throughout his career.
Funeral arrangements are currently being arranged by the fire department.
