Jonathan Ojeda Obituary – The driver of a utility task vehicle (UTV) involved in a fatal crash in Glen Frazer, near Martinez, has been identified as Jonathan Ojeda, a resident of Bay Point. The 30-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Wolcott Lane and Franklin Canyon Road. According to the Contra Costa County coroner’s office, Ojeda was not properly restrained by a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the incident and determined that Ojeda was unable to safely navigate a turn on the wet and muddy road, resulting in a collision with a chain-link fence. Fortunately, neither of the two passengers in the UTV was injured. Ojeda, who graduated from Alhambra High School in 2011 and attended Stanford University, had been married since 2017.
A GoFundMe account has been set up by a family member to cover Ojeda’s memorial expenses, with nearly $11,000 donated so far. The CHP is still investigating the crash and encourages anyone with information to contact them at 925-646-4980 or email their details to 320Investigations@chp.ca.gov.
