Jonathan Stewart Obituary – The South Los Angeles community mourns the loss of a dedicated deputy from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Tragically, 41-year-old Jonathan Stewart, who had served for ten years, passed away on Saturday. Responding to a call about an unresponsive deputy, an ambulance was dispatched to the South Los Angeles station at around 4 p.m. Despite efforts to revive him, Deputy Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene.
The LASD expressed their sorrow on social media, highlighting Deputy Stewart’s unexpected passing and recognizing his unwavering commitment. Initially joining the department as a custody assistant in 2006, Deputy Stewart had worked at the LASD Inmate Reception Center before being transferred to the South L.A. station in 2014. In 2020, he was promoted to the position of Field Training Officer, which he held until his untimely demise. He leaves behind his wife and three children, who are now left to grieve his loss.
