Jonathon Tucker Obituary – Friday’s identification of the driver killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Desert Hot Springs brings further clarity to the incident. The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 62 and North Indian Canyon Drive, prompting a response from firefighters at 2:27 a.m. on Thursday. The crash involved a Hyundai making a left turn and a Dodge traveling eastbound on Highway 62.
Tragically, the Dodge, driven by 22-year-old Jonathon Tucker from Twentynine Palms, veered in a northeasterly direction and collided with a street light at the intersection corner. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered Tucker in critical condition. Regrettably, they pronounced him dead at the scene, as confirmed by the Riverside County Fire Department.
The Hyundai driver, a resident of Yucca Valley, sustained minor injuries during the incident. Notably, the California Highway Patrol spokesperson, David Torres, stated that neither alcohol nor drugs seemed to have played a role in the crash.
Following the accident, Highway 62 remained closed for approximately two hours to facilitate officer investigations. As of now, the California Highway Patrol investigation is still ongoing, seeking to uncover further details surrounding this tragic event.
