Kenneth Goins Obituary – The man who was fatally shot inside a restaurant in Washington, D.C. over the weekend has been identified by authorities. They have also charged another man who allegedly shot six people at a nearby nightclub just hours before the incident. Police officers on patrol in northwest Washington heard gunshots around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday. They followed the sound and arrived at a restaurant on U Street, where they discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, identified as 43-year-old Kenneth Goins from Salisbury, Maryland, was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement is currently searching for two suspects, one of whom was wearing a white or gray sweatshirt and riding a motorcycle.
A reward of $25,000 is being offered for any information related to the case. If you have any information, please contact the police at 202-727-9099. Earlier that evening, the police were able to apprehend the suspected shooter who allegedly injured six people at a nightclub on Connecticut Avenue.
The shooting occurred shortly after 11:20 p.m. at Decades nightclub. According to officers, three men and two women were taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Another man received minor treatment at the scene for a graze wound and declined further medical assistance. One of the victims, who was shot in the leg, revealed that she was celebrating her bachelorette party. She is scheduled to get married in two weeks.
Witnesses provided information to the police, leading to the arrest of the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Rennwel Mantock from Hyattsville, Maryland. The officers promptly detained Mantock and recovered a firearm at the scene.
Authorities believe that Mantock opened fire after being ejected from the club by the staff following a dispute. Mantock has been charged with assault with intent to kill, possession of unregistered ammunition, and possession of an unregistered firearm.
Both cases are currently under investigation.
