Kinlee Marie Denton Obituary, Death – The Kingfisher High School community is in mourning following the passing of a 15-year-old student who tragically lost their life in a crash late Friday night on State Highway 33. According to a collision report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1999 Honda Accord was involved in the crash around 11:55 p.m. along State Highway 33 at N 2920 Road, approximately 6 miles east of Kingfisher.
The 15-year-old passenger was transported to OU Health in Oklahoma City in critical condition and unfortunately passed away around 1:50 p.m. on Saturday. The teenager was later identified as Kinlee Marie Denton by Kingfisher High School officials on Monday. Additionally, two other teenagers, a 17-year-old driver, and a 13-year-old passenger, were taken to the Oklahoma City hospital in stable condition.
In a statement on the school’s Facebook page, Kingfisher High School Principal John Harris expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the student, offering thoughts and prayers to the Denton family, friends, faculty, staff, and the entire Kingfisher community.
The tragic incident took place on the day Kingfisher High School began its spring break. Despite the break, counselors were made available by the school to support students through the grieving process.
A memorial service for Denton is scheduled for noon on Thursday, March 21, at the Kingfisher High School All-Purpose Building. The family has requested attendees to wear pink in honor of Denton’s memory.
