Laith Masri Death, A fatal accident occurred in Middletown, resulting in the death of a teenager and injuries to five others. The incident took place on Verity Parkway on Saturday night at approximately 11:15. According to the police, the driver of a 2015 Cadillac Escalade, an 18-year-old, was driving at a high speed and lost control of the vehicle. The SUV veered off the road, collided with a light pole, struck a tree, and ultimately flipped over into a wooded area.
The deceased victim has been identified as Laith Masri, a 14-year-old student at Lakota West High School, as confirmed by the Butler County Coroner’s Office. Among the five injured individuals, aged between 12 and 18, some are also students at Lakota West. They were transported to different medical facilities, with two being taken to Kettering Medical Center and the remaining three to the Atrium Medical Center. The severity of their injuries ranges from minor to life-threatening.
The investigation into this tragic incident is being carried out by the Middletown Police Department and the Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (START).
A spokesperson for the Lakota Local School District released the following statement:
“It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of one of our Lakota West Freshman students, Laith Masri. Information has been shared with our families and staff about counseling and grief support that will be available during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Laith’s family and friends, as well as those of our other students who were also involved in the accident.”
