Linh Hong Nguyen Death – A woman from Red Hook has been identified as the victim in a fatal accident where she was struck by a car on Broadway in the Village of Red Hook last Saturday night. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office named the victim as 25-year-old Linh Hong Nguyen.
According to Capt. John Watterson, the incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. when a 2017 Ford Fusion, traveling southbound on Broadway, veered off the road and hit Nguyen on the sidewalk. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford Fusion, who was uninjured, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Watterson noted that the primary cause of the crash appears to be unsafe speed. Although no charges have been filed yet, the sheriff’s office’s Detective Bureau and Crash Investigation Unit are continuing their investigation.
