Loletha Hall Death – The woman who was fatally shot by an 80-year-old homeowner in Clark County on Monday has been identified as 61-year-old Loletha Hall by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office had previously confirmed that Hall was from Franklin County.
Deputies and medics responded to a house on South Charleston Clifton Road after an assault on the homeowner was reported. According to Clark County Lt. Kristopher Shultz, the homeowner fired at least one shot that struck Hall. Hall was airlifted to a nearby hospital by CareFlight, while the homeowner was also treated and transported to a hospital.
Deputies stated that Hall was unknown to the homeowner and was not invited to the property. Shultz mentioned that there might have been misleading communications from individuals associated with the woman to the homeowner.
It is believed that Hall initiated a conversation with the elderly man. Deputies impounded Hall’s vehicle to search for information and potential documentation. The homeowner also provided communications he had received that could be linked to the woman and a possible scam, as previously reported by News Center 7.
Although it is unclear if she attempted to enter the home forcefully, deputies suspect that she engaged in a physical altercation with the man.
Shultz commented, “We encounter similar situations frequently. However, most of them do not involve individuals arriving at a residence and provoking violence.”
