Mark Lee Rogers Obituary – A Paso Robles man has been identified as the pedestrian killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Orcutt. Mark Lee Rogers, 33, died in the incident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle that fled from the scene on southbound Highway 135, south of Rice Ranch Road, according to Raquel Zick, spokeswoman for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau. At approximately 12:34 a.m. California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to a report of a pedestrian lying in the roadway.
Upon arrival, CHP officers and Sheriff’s Office deputies located a deceased male pedestrian within the traffic lanes, CHP Officer Brian Barriga said. A preliminary investigation indicated the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries after being struck by at least one vehicle, Barriga added. The involved vehicle or vehicles fled the scene prior to the arrival of CHP officers, and the investigation into the incident is continuing.
