Mason Warshaw Obituary, Death – A student from Canby High School passed away on Monday night after being struck by a freight train. Canby Police Department confirmed that Mason Warshaw, an 18-year-old senior at the school, was hit by the train close to the Clackamas County Fairgrounds.
According to the police, Warshaw was crossing the tracks just north of the Pine Street intersection when he was struck by the northbound freight train. Unfortunately, he passed away at the scene. The Canby School District Superintendent, Aaron Downs, issued a letter to the community informing them about Warshaw’s tragic death:
“We offer heartfelt condolences to Mason’s family during this difficult time. We also offer condolences to our Canby High School students and staff members, especially Mason’s classmates, teachers and support staff. Our district counselors and psychologists are available to students throughout the day today.”
The letter mentioned that the investigation is still ongoing, but the police believe that the incident was accidental.
