Mathaniel James Obituary – A Trenton man lost his life on Sunday when his SUV veered off the road and collided with the trees alongside Interstate 95 in Upper Chichester, according to the Delaware County Medical Examiner. The deceased has been identified as Mathaniel James, aged 32.
The incident took place around 7 a.m. near mile marker 0.8 on the southbound lane of the highway. Upon arrival, the Upper Chichester Fire Company discovered that the vehicle had left the road and flipped over in the woods, resulting in the driver being thrown out of the vehicle and subsequently crushed by it.
Using hydraulic spreaders, emergency crews managed to lift the vehicle and transported the victim to Crozer-Chester Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
In response to the tragic accident, the Upper Chichester Fire Company emphasized the importance of driving responsibly, maintaining focus behind the wheel, and wearing seatbelts in a social media post.
Although the incident was investigated by the state police at Media, no further details have been released by the authorities.
