Michael John Duplin Death – The Greenwood County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a vehicle versus pedestrian incident. The coroner has identified the pedestrian as Michael John Duplin, 53, of Bradley, S.C. This incident remains under investigation.

The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office has reported a vehicle versus pedestrian incident. The coroner says the collision happened around 4:40 p.m. on Highway 221 near White Hall Road. Once authorities arrived on the scene, they learned that the pedestrian, the driver of a pickup truck, ran out of gas and was trying to refuel his truck, according to the coroner.
The coroner says while the pedestrian was refueling, he was struck by an oncoming vehicle headed southwest on Hwy. 221. The GCCO says the pedestrian death was ruled to be an accident. His cause of death was ruled out to be blunt force trauma, according to the coroner.
The GCCO says the identity of the pedestrian will be released once next of kin is notified.
