Monica Nicole Alcantar, Death – A decomposed body found in a West Houston parking garage Sunday has been identified as that of a 22-year-old Houston woman who had been missing for about two weeks, according to published reports.
Monica Nicole Alcantar’s body was found in the driver’s seat of her car in a Chinatown parking garage at the Dun Huang Plaza on Bellaire Boulevard near West Beltway, the Chronicle’s media partner ABC13 reported. According to the Houston Police Department’s missing report, Alcantar was last seen by her family on Aug. 26 leaving Leawood Condominiums in Houston.
ABC13 reported Alcantar’s family reported her missing to police Aug. 30. On Sunday, patrol officers responded to Chinatown after a call about the body found in a vehicle, however, they didn’t find any signs of foul play or trauma.
The Houston Police Department released surveillance photos of a person of interest who may know more about the woman’s death. The images show a man walking in the parking lot and a black Dodge Challenger that may belong to him.
