Nicholas Lanni, Gene Kittiko Obituary, Death – Nicholas Lanni, a 34-year-old Norco resident, was pronounced dead at the scene of the multi-car crash, as stated in the coroner’s report. Gene Kittiko, a 79-year-old Ontario resident, survived the collision but unfortunately passed away at Inland Valley Medical Center shortly after midnight.
Both families were informed of the tragic incident, according to the coroner’s report. The crash occurred just after 10 p.m. when four vehicles collided while traveling northbound on I-15, south of Indian Truck Trail. Firefighters who arrived at the scene observed four severely damaged cars blocking two lanes of the freeway.
A gray sedan hit the center divider, leading to the chain reaction crash involving four vehicles, as reported by CHP. One individual lost their life, and four others sustained injuries, with one in critical condition. The injured parties were transported to nearby hospitals via ambulance. Unfortunately, the critically injured individual succumbed to their injuries approximately two hours later.
A SIG Alert was released for the southbound I-15, causing traffic disruptions for several hours. The California Highway Patrol’s Inland Division was handling the investigation of the incident.
The freeway remained closed for several hours overnight due to the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol.
