Nicholas Tubbs Death – Nicholas Tubbs, a resident of Grafton, Ohio, and a Cleveland native has tragically passed away, He was confirmed dead through a social media publication that read “I cannot wrap my head around everything that happened. I’m so sorry Nicholas Tubbs you did not deserve this at all. You were such a hard-working, uplifting, loving, caring person & you were the BEST uncle to our nephews. We love you, Nick. Sending all the love and prayers to the family.”
What was Nicholas Tubbs’ cause of death?
A 19-year-old man was detained and charged on Friday morning after it was alleged that he shot and killed a 21-year-old Grafton man on Thursday night outside Chestnut Commons Walmart. According to a news release from Elyria police on Friday, Roosevelt Benton, 19, of Oberlin, is charged with one count of felonious assault in Elyria Municipal Court. However, as the investigation progresses, authorities anticipate that he will face more counts.

On Thursday, Nov. 2, just before 5:00 p.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire in the Walmart parking lot located at 1000 Chestnut Commons Drive. They discovered that Grafton resident Nicholas Tubbs, 21, had been wounded. According to the announcement, Tubbs was taken to the University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center and thereafter to a hospital in Cleveland, where he was declared deceased early on Friday morning.
Suspect arrested and charged
Following an initial inquiry, Roosevelt Benton was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Elyria police for felonious assault. Benton was taken into custody in Oberlin and appeared in Elyria Municipal Court early on Friday. A court set Benton’s bond at $1 million on Friday. On November 9, there will be a preliminary hearing. According to Elyria police, Benton will likely face more criminal charges as the investigation progresses.
