Pedro Montelongo, Kimberley Rodriguez Obituary – Two people killed in a pileup on North Topanga Canyon Boulevard Sunday have been identified as a local 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, authorities announced Tuesday. Pedro Montelongo of Los Angeles, 24, and Kimberley Ayala Rodriguez, 23, died in the early morning crash that also injured four others in the Canoga Park area, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s Office.
Montelongo and Rodriguez had been trapped in the wreckage of the crash, which occurred shortly before 1 a.m. in the 7600 block of North Topanga Canyon Boulevard, said LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey. Firefighters used hydraulic tools to free the pair, but it was too late to save them. Four other people were injured in the crash, including two others who suffered critical injuries, added Humphrey. It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the fatal three-car collision. No arrests have been announced in connection with the crash. The crash remained under investigation.
