Rafael A. Molina Obituary, Death – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is currently looking into the fatal shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday involving deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office in Pompano Beach. The shooting took place at approximately 11:30 p.m. when BSO deputies were responding to reports of a shooting in the vicinity of the 3200 block of West Copans Road.
According to the source, As the deputies were en route, they were informed that an adult male, later identified as 42-year-old Warren H. Chambers, had been shot and that the armed suspect, 59-year-old Rafael A. Molina, may still be in the area.
Upon arrival at the scene, the deputies engaged with Molina. According to BSO, the initial investigation indicated that Molina had opened fire on the deputies at some point, prompting them to return fire.
Molina was declared deceased at the scene. Detectives later discovered that Molina had fatally shot Chambers, his colleague, prior to their encounter with Molina.
In accordance with BSO protocol, the three deputies involved have been reassigned to administrative duties while further investigations are conducted.
The inquiry remains ongoing.
