Robert Moore Obituary, Death – The sheriff says 89-year-old Robert Moore, of Burlingham Road in Shade, was found by a deputy a little after 2 pm on Tuesday several hundred yards from his home in a wooded area at the edge of the West Shade River. The sheriff says they were notified he was missing a little before 12:30 pm Tuesday. According to Fitch, Moore’s wife told deputies he had been suffering from flu-like symptoms, and it’s believed he may have taken too much medicine, which, in addition to other medication he took, caused adverse effects.
The wife said he’d been acting strangely on Monday night. The wife says she went to bed around 9:30 Monday night while her husband was watching TV in the living room. When she woke the next morning, Moore was nowhere to be found. Fitch says Moore had his cell phone with him, and they pinged his phone to narrow the search area. He was pronounced dead shortly after being found. The sheriff says they feel confident Moore had left Monday night because there were no tracks left by him in the snow that had fallen. The reason he left is unknown. The coroner, EMS, and deputies responded. Keep checking the WSAZ app for the latest information.
