Rodney Buttermore Death – On January 2nd, in the afternoon, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified about a traffic accident involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian on Van Teylingen Drive in the 3900 block. Upon arrival, officers found the injured pedestrian lying on the road, already receiving emergency medical attention from the Colorado Springs Fire Department and AMR.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on the deceased pedestrian, identifying him as Rodney Buttermore, a 61-year-old individual.
Given the circumstances of the accident, the Major Crash Team has been assigned to investigate. The police report states that neither alcohol nor speed are considered factors in this ongoing investigation.
According to the police, this incident marks the second traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year.
