Sam Amorese, Death – One person was killed and several others were injured, including two children, after a car lost control and slammed into pedestrians in Queens on Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened at 260th Street and 73rd Avenue around 4 p.m.
Four pedestrians were struck by the out-of-control vehicle while they were standing next to a parked car. A 67-year-old man, identified as Sam Amorese, was pinned between two cars and killed during the crash.
Three other pedestrians were injured including a 65-year-old woman, who suffered a leg injury, a 5-year-old girl, and a 1-year-old boy.
The woman was taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center in serious but stable condition, while the children were taken to Cohen’s Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
The 39-year-old driver of the out-of-control vehicle stayed at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
